The primary purpose of the muscle group of the lower jaw is to articulate the tongue. Targeting this muscle group effectively is made possible with the aid of Chin-Tec oral inserts. By pushing the tongue against the inserts, the muscles of the underside of the jaw/chin are subject to resistance training.
Chin-Tec oral inserts are supplied in three different rigidities (beginner, intermediate and advanced). Each of the three oral inserts are accompanied by specially formulated exercise programmes designed to reduce the size of the muscles of the lower jaw maximizing lifting and toning. This is achieved by emphasizing catabolic processes during which lipids, polysaccharides and amino acids are broken down, converting large muscle tissue molecules into simpler smaller ones. This process is well known to bodybuilders and weight trainers as it actually shrinks muscle mass creating a highly toned and sculpted look.

Pushing the tongue against Chin-Tec oral inserts in a downward direction towards the floor of the mouth targets the following muscles: genioglossus, hyoglossus, styloglossus. It also targets the base of the tongue and soft pallet. Pushing in an upward direction with the tongue against the Chin-Tec oral insert targets the mylohyoid, digastric (anterior and posterior bellies), geniohyoid, palatoglossus, stylohyoid muscles. It also targets the tongue and soft pallet.
